5 March: Playing in the woods

Armed with maps, aerial photos, compasses, skins in case we needed to turn around, and a strong sense of curiosity, we poked around in less-traveled areas that seemed promising. We found quite a few places where bushwhacking was necessary, but today was a reconnaissance mission that should pay off when we revisit these areas.
